Day 0- we meet from the US and from elsewhere in Italy in Bolzano.
Day 1- We meet John and Anya in Bolzano and head to our first hike on the Col Raiser route from Ortisei.
Lots of ski gondola transport up and down and around. Short hike through Val Gardena, then to the Alpenroyal hotel for two nights. Great pool facilities.
Day 2- Biking through Ortisei. Gravel, downhill, on trails, thinking a lot about possibility of broken bones, Very fancy Michelin dinner at the hotel.
Day 3- Back to hiking from Colfosco and Corvara. Hotel for the next two nights at La Perla in Corvara.

Day 4- Biking from San Vigilio, visiting the cheese farm, zip line for some. This was a really long ride into a national park which was lovely. Gordon in his Costume from his role as an Italian biker in "Breaking Away":
Day 5- Very interesting hiking day over rugged terrain and a visit to the Valparola Pass and a WWI museum on the front line where the Austrians and the Italians fought. Lots of old war time military equipment found and displayed. We ended up in Cortina D'Ampezzo at the Hotel Cristallo- very luxurious, great pool. Frank Sinatra rented the whole hotel for two months while filming Von Ryan's Express in the area.
Day 6- On to Portugal for some and to Switzerland for B, C, T&T.
